Yetter Privacy Policy

Effective October 12, 2026

Yetter is a calorie and step counter made by NY STUDIO (sole proprietorship, Kazakhstan). This page explains, in plain language, what data the app touches, where it goes, and what never leaves your phone. No legalese padding: everything below is the complete picture.

The short version

What stays on your phone

Your food log, your profile (sex, age, height, weight), your goals, and your step history are stored locally on your device. Steps are read from your phone's built-in step sensor; we never collect GPS or location data. If you never sign in, none of this leaves your phone except as described under "Scanning food" and "Ads" below.

Scanning food

When you scan a meal, the photo is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which passes it to our AI vision provider (Alibaba Cloud) to estimate the food and its calories. The photo is processed to produce that estimate and is not stored on our servers, not used for advertising, and not used to train AI models by us. The photo stays in your meal log on your device only.

Our server records anonymous technical data about each scan — processing time, compute cost, and the country the request came from (derived from the network connection; we do not store your IP address in our logs) — to keep the service running and affordable.

Accounts and backup (optional)

You can use Yetter fully without an account. If you choose "Continue with Google", we receive your Google account identifier and email address, and we store a backup of your food log and settings so you can restore them on a new phone. Backups are stored with MongoDB Atlas on servers in Frankfurt, Germany (EU). We never see or store your Google password. Step history is not included in backups.

Ads

Yetter is free and supported by ads served by Google AdMob: rewarded ads that you choose to watch in exchange for food scans. AdMob may process device identifiers (such as your advertising ID) to serve and measure ads. In the European Economic Area, the UK, and other regions that require it, you will be asked for consent before any personalised ads are shown, and you can decline. How Google uses this data is described in Google's privacy & terms.

Anonymous usage signals

The app sends a small number of anonymous events to our server — for example, which onboarding step was completed, or what a rewarded ad earned — tagged with a random device identifier and country only. These contain no names, no email addresses, and no health data. We use them to understand where the app loses people and whether it is sustainable.

Deleting your data

In the app: Settings → "Delete account" removes your account and your backup from our servers immediately and permanently. Settings → "Delete my data" erases everything stored on the device. Deleting the app's data or uninstalling removes all local data.

By request: email us at the address below from the Google account you signed in with, and we will delete your account and backup.

Your rights

Where data-protection law applies to you (including the GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, export, and erase your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to your local supervisory authority. Almost all of these you can exercise directly in the app; for anything else, email us.

Who processes data for us

Where data leaves the EU, transfers rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards provided by these processors.

Children

Yetter is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update this page and the effective date above. We will not quietly expand what we collect.
